Coach Schmitt is entering his 7th year as a coach with the Northern HIghlands basketball program and he is heading into his 2nd year as the varsity boys head basketball coach. During Coach Schmitt’s first year as head coach, his team went 21-8 and went to the state sectional finals.  Coach Schmitt was also awarded Bergen County Coach of the Year from the Bergen County Coaches Association and Bergen County Coach of the Year from the New Jersey Basketball Coaches Association.  Coach Schmitt is also a teacher of health and physical education at Northern Highlands.
